Lost Johnny and Anima return to Arkana, where they find Mania’s tower in pieces. They meet up with the other rebel Archai, who call Anima the “avatar.” Though she finds out she is not the avatar, she discovers that her mother is linked to the Fenris, just as she is liked to Animus and her brother is linked to Eris. Meanwhile, in the remains of Mania’s castle, Animus awakes to find his fellow rebel Archai, Rafael and the Harlequin, dying. They were killed by Animus’ shadow: the evil portion of Animus that has been split from his host. Animus hunts down his shadow, and they fight. Animus is losing, until Anima and the other rebel Archai come to his aid, merging the shadow back into Animus. After the fight, we find Anima’s friends have been brought to Arkana too, where Judy is, in fact, the avatar, and reawakens Fenris, which also reawakens Willow MasoN.
